peopleunits are dropped, then enter the number on the right using the buttons or your keyboard. - The remaining levels are shown on the left.
- Some items are a little buggy, but they shouldn't break the game.
- We managed to get this out just in time!
- We hope you find the idea original and interesting.
- Leave a comment with how much money you have at the end of your run!
That's your score.

MORNING. You're late, so I'll keep this short.
That's your station. Shaft above you, floor below, dashboard in front. The company puts things down the shaft. That part isn't your problem.
Your problem is the number.
Somebody upstairs needs to know how many came down. There is no sensor. There was a sensor. There is now you. Four digit wheels, one lever, and whatever your eyes can hold while the shaft is busy. That's the whole instrument.
Two rules, and I'm only saying them once:
- You get one pull. The lever is not a suggestion box. The number you dialled is the number that goes upstairs.
- Four lamps on your panel. Those are yours. They go out when you're badly wrong. When the fourth one goes out, so do you.
Ten batches on the shift. Nobody's counting the good ones.
Right. Lever's live. Here's the job.
What you actually do
- Pull the lever to start the machine. Nothing falls until you say so.
- Watch the batch fall. Fifteen units, forty-five, more. No time to tally. Estimate.
- Dial your guess into the counter block — number keys, or nudge the wheels one place at a time.
- Pull the lever again to commit. The board does the arithmetic in front of you, then hands down the verdict.
| Accuracy | Verdict |
| 100% | Spot-On |
| 90% | sharp eye |
| 80% | close call |
| 70% | rough guess |
| less than 70% | MISS |
Within 30% error and you move on. Worse than that is a total miss: same batch again, fresh load, and one of your lamps.
The part they didn't mention in the interview
Between shifts, trinkets get handed out. Three on offer, you take one, it's yours for the rest of the run. Some of them help you count. Some of them earn you a few extra credits. Some of them — read carefully — make the shaft considerably harder to read, and it will not be explained to you which is which until it's falling.
The trinkets come from Jim. Jim works the other side of the door and Jim has a temper. Take what he offers, take it promptly, and don't make it weird.
Ten batches. Four lamps. One pull each.
